Firebird St. Louis

Notable News And Other Things

Indian Blanket was just added to the Sharon Van Etten/Damien Jurado show!  If you missed their set opening for First Aid Kit, shame on you.  Don’t make the same mistake again.  Rumor has it that it’s going to be all acoustic this time around.

The Blind Eyes just released the single from their upcoming, as-of-now-untitled EP, into the wild.  It’s a real pop gem, and you can stream it right now over at RFT Music.  Also, if you come to the show on Saturday (you really should), you’ll get a free copy.  Wow!

In other streaming-related news, you can listen to full records from Cheap Girls and Said The Whale, care of Bandcamp.  They’re here on Thurs, 11/8 and Sun, 11/11, respectively.

Bahamas are opening for Milo Greene on Weds, 11/7 – peep this curious interview/shortfilm/music video, in which band leader Afie Jurvanen hangs out with his mom, plays a few tunes and lights some stuff on fire.

It’s Sub Pop day at The Firebird: Father John Misty tickets just went on sale (get yours before they’re gone) and we just, like 5 minutes ago, announced Helio Sequence/Shabazz Palaces on Jan. 30th.

Other announcements this week include Steddy P/DJ Mahf on Nov. 23rd, The Business on Dec. 16th, Graveyard on Feb. 2nd, and Nile on March 17th.

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin graced us with their presence this time last year – Bryan Sutter took some lovely photographs, which you can view here.

Thanks to all that entered the contest last week!  We enlisted the help of a special celebrity guest to pick the winner, so without further ado…

More contests soon, stay tuned.
