Sky Burnt White
The general perception of being burned is completely negative.
Whether your mind instantly goes to the first time you touched a hot stove as a small child, the scene of an accident, or maybe a bad experience with family, a friend, or a lover. It instantly creates a feeling of discomfort.
The fact is that sometimes we have to go through some tough things in order to "get where we're going". That's what most of the music and lyrics in Sky Burnt White comes from.
Not just suffering through, but GETTING THROUGH those tough times.
Coming out stronger, faster, better, happier, and smarter than before.
Our goal is to make the most honest music possible, and to play and perform it for whoever will listen to us as far as our dreams takes us.
Please enjoy the music and join us on our journey!
For The City
For The City is a Rock/Alternative band from St. Louis, MO.
Music pushes boundaries and pulls emotions; it captures imaginations releases inhibitions. Veterans of the storied St. Louis Music Scene, Oatm strives to write powerful and emotional music that draws from a wide variety of influences. Thundering rhythms accompany the harmonized vocals and guitar melodies that pull from deep within.
Steve started doing music at the age of 16 writing raps for fun. He later got involved with Mount up Productions and made a solo album, which made it to the Howard Stern Show for a listener submission and got some air time. After that he took a couple years off to focus on his family , but the music bug was still itching to get out, so he then joined a band called 5000 fingers of Dr.t. Things did not mesh as well as he would have hoped so after a year of playing with them took another break. Not long after finally got with some old friends and formed the Common Jones and finally found the right group that clicked with his style. Music influences include - Deftones, Fusebox Funk, Downset, Common, and Mos def.
Brian J Blood (AKA. B) Bass Guitar/ Vocals
Brian started playing/writing music at age 16. Played in the Saint Louis local music scene for 17 yrs. After being in the music industry for 17 yrs the thing I really enjoy is seeing family, friends and fans gathering and having the time of their life’s at one of our shows. The more you guy’s give us energy wise, the more we give it back.
Musical styles as a bass player: Heavy funk is my preference to play. I enjoy all styles of music though. I have always tried to pick my bands very precisely, to the style of music, which is played. I will never pigeon hole myself to one style. I pride myself on being able to play any style of music to a professional standard.
